Tatted Doilies
by Iris Niebach
For those who love handwork there is nothing more satisfying than making a beautiful doily, and these small doilies need only a little time. A finished doily can be sewn on to a silk or velvet cushion, framed and hung on the wall, or used as an insertion in a pillow slip, curtain or tablecloth. It can be worked in very thin yarn and placed on a fabric covered box, or joined with others to make a tablecloth. The possibilities are endless!

The Lace Guild
Dec 05 This is a soft back A5 booklet of 13 tatted doilies, with clear diagrammatic instructions and black and white photographs of the finished pieces. The number of shuttles needed and the size of yarn used is also indicated on each pattern. Three of them are worked in the traditional method of several rounds but the rest can be worked as one piece, something I was very attracted to. I did attempt one of the patterns and found it very easy to follow...The patterns are suitable for a novice tatter, although they may find one or two a challenge. I'm not normally attracted to tatted doilies but these are very pretty and at such a reasonable price I will be buying the booklet for myself.
